What is a Mockup?

  • A mockup is a full scale installation of a proposed lighting system. Actual light fixtures, fixture placement, ceiling height, room dimensions, surface finishes and furniture layout can all be evaluated in a mock-up. This allows the design team to view and make necessary changes before actual construction begins.

Who are Mockups for?

  • In-house working groups
  • Project-wide design teams
  • Owner and user review and evaluation.

MockUps Room Features

  • 40' long south window wall (full room height) with split upper/lower blackout capability
  • Modular theatrical style wall system
  • 1200 sq.ft. - 30' X 40' X 15'

How much do Mockups cost?

  • Simple mockups can be free!
  • The Lighting Design Lab contributes 8 hours labor - afterward it is billed at $40/hr.
  • The LDL allows 3 days viewing after buildout - afterward it is billed at $75/day.
