(Fig 1)
Most hotel guests arrive in predawn hours after lengthy flights, very
ready for soothing relaxation.
(Fig 2)
Owners mandated low-contrast interiors with inefficient copper punched
lanterns appearing to do the ambient work! the fountain lobby offers a
calm, uniform environment suffused with indirect light from four utilitarian
low-cost concealed uplights with HIR lamps. The fountain is highlighted
only by recessed, submerged fibreoptics.
(Fig 3)
The concept and goals continue throughout all public spaces.
(Fig 4)
The Gallery employs identical concealed fittings for uplighting pendentives.
Indirect low voltage covers with xenon festoon lamps feature domes, while
deeply regressed QPAR30 downlights equalize floor lighting levels, better
revealing mosaic panels. A quality dimming system balances day and night
impact.
(Fig. 5)
in the Samovar Lounge, low voltage coves highlight architecture and millwork,
adding to ambient levels. Again, deeply regressed QPAR30 and MR16 adjustables
work in concert with coves, suggesting decoratives are doing the work.
(Fig. 6)
Point source MR16 lamps in the center capital supplement the bar dome's
cove lighting for additional sparkle and texture revelation on mottled
surfaces. Minimizing heat, triphosphor compact fluorescent highlights
the back bar and luminous panels. Enclosed low wattage/ low voltage strip
lights feature the bar front, completing another lower contrast environment.
(Fig. 7)
Continuous row cold cathode uplights the Hammam Dome, again bolstering
decoratives' contribution.
(Fig. 8)
The pool beach bar is highlighted with T8 fluorescent at panels, minimizing
heat and energy use. Bottles and cracked glass are backlighted with a
simple, yet elegant rail system and standard dichroic MR16s
