125 classrooms in fourteen buildings were selected for renovation and modernization. Energy-efficiency, lamp life, ease of replacement and limiting lamp types were primary concerns.

Denny Hall Classroom - BEFORE
Traditional 1970's classroom lighting was removed. Lighting power usage was reduced from 2.0 to 1.35 watts per square foot.

Denny Hall Classroom - AFTER
3-lamp F32T8 direct/indirect cable suspended fixtures update image and quality of classroom lighting. Separately controlled downlight provides note-taking light. Installation parallel to window-wall allows separate control of daylight zone. Occupancy sensors with manual override provide controls.

Parrington Hall - BEFORE
Selected for use as distance learning classroom, complete lighting update is required.

Parrington Hall - AFTER
Pipe-grid was added to allow flexibility for video lighting. CFL wallwashers provide backlight; incandescent downlights provide note-taking light. Pipe-grid outlets and theatrical dimming allow mounting of video lighting anywhere in the room.

Kane Hall 110 - BEFORE
2'x4' six lamp troffers and incandescent note taking lights were removed.

Kane Hall 110 - AFTER
T5 HO fluorescent strips provide economical indirect lighting from sidewall coves and ceiling clouds. T5 strips provide aisle lighting. CFL cross-baffle downlights meet Owner's requirement for 50 foot-candles. Dimming system allows control from preset stations and touch-screen at lectern.

Kane Hall 130 - BEFORE
Largest auditorium on campus needed updating to convey a more prestigious image and allow multiple uses.

Kane Hall 130 - AFTER
100,000-hour induction lamps provide downlighting from high ceilings. PAR lamp incandescent downlights provide note-taking light. CFL cross-baffle downlights and CFL wall sconces provide under balcony lighting. T5HO fixtures provide indirect lighting from sidewall coves.

Kane Hall 130 - AFTER
Pre-set dimming system allows control from projection booth and touch screen at lectern.
