What Is A Lighting
Consultation?
Consultations are available for commercial, industrial and daylighting projects. Lighting consultations take many forms, and provide you with 2 or 3 energy efficient design options, based on information you provide us. Any interior or exterior project will be handled, and the consultation may be in person, over the phone or fax, or even by email on the Internet. The details you provide about the project help us provide you with the range of your design and product options. The more information provided to the lighting specialist, the more options the consultation can generate. A typical interior project consultation needs floor plans showing furniture placement, reflected ceiling plans placement, and sections showing ceiling heights. Exterior projects should have a site plan showing building height, light fixtures including existing street lighting, and landscaping. Consultations are typically held at the Lighting Design Lab, but field visits may be possible with advance notice. We do not specify final solutions, or manage projects (which are the jobs of private lighting designers). The Lighting Design Lab may access a national directory of lighting professionals for your reference, but does not endorse the work of any specific lighting professionals. What Will You Get From The Consultation?Choices - you will receive information on how to reduce your lighting-related energy consumption while maintaining or improving your lighting quality. You will receive alternative lighting solutions (whenever possible) for each area being considered. Switching and control information will also be discussed for additional energy savings. The names of manufacturers' representatives, and product cutsheets will be provided. Lighting equipment costs are heavily influenced by quantity and delivery time frames. Prices can change rapidly and it is your responsibility to contact manufacturer's representatives for current price quotes. The final decision is yours to make on the lighting solution and fixture option to use. If you have a current or future lighting project, please call us at (206) 325-9711 to set up a consultation. You may be surprised at how many ways the Lighting Design Lab can help you improve your project's light. Lighting Design Lab Commercial Lighting Specialists
