A Northwest utility funded lighting education facility promoting commercial and industrial energy conservation.

About Us

Mission

Begun in 1989, the Lighting Design Lab works to transform the Northwest lighting market by promoting quality design and energy efficient technologies via education & training, consultations, technical assistance, and demonstrations. The Lab is operated by Seattle City Light with support from Northwest regional utilities and the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance.

Who do we serve?

The Lighting Design Lab serves anyone in the Northwest who is working on commercial lighting projects including lighting designers, specifiers, architects, interior designer, engineers, contractor, and facility managers. Our staff will work one-on-one with you to discuss and demonstrate possible lighting strategies suited to your project. We can help you confirm your lighting ideas, try out new equipment, and find the most appropriate, energy-efficient lighting solutions. Individuals or groups can also schedule a tour, check out displays, and see the latest lighting technologies.  See a complete list of our services.
